Dante Alighieri
Re-read this master work in order to discuss it with my daughter who was taking a philosophy class on Dante. The meaning of many cantos, passages, and characters is not clear to me, but I enjoy the narrative journey, the threads of good vs. evil, and the critical review of social hierarchy that run through the three parts. I also noticed relationships between themes, settings, and imagery in the books with those of some modern fantasy stories and films.
