As Mike Woodson would say, “I like everything about that” super group trio of folk rockers. This three song pre-release titled the record bodes well for the full album said to arrive later this year. The tunes deliver with the lyrical craft featured on their solo works and the bonus of emotive vocal harmonies and rounds that emerge from their collaboration. This collection of songs strikes me as the output of a band more than their 6-song debut EP from a couple of years ago that is also quite good. On this one, True Blue and Emily I’m Sorry are stand outs for me. At first, I thought True Blue might be a cover of the children’s ditty from Bright Eyes, but it’s an original. Will add these songs to my headphone playlist for closer listening.
